GOPIO hosts its iconic India Day Fair annually to celebrate the Indian Independence day. With the number of attendees ranging from around 10,000-15,000, this community event tries  to  incorporate  the  patriotism  towards  the  Indian culture, music, entertainment and food.  

GOPIO Youth council was relaunched at the beginning of 2016. The purpose for the youth council is to address the current social, mental and economic issues affecting the youth of today. Henceforth, Motivational speakers as well as established business entrepreneurs were called upon to the stage to discuss their journey as a student and the strategies they used to overcome the obstacles.

GOPIO youth council organized a mixture of informative as well as interactive and entertaining events for the members to give them an opportunity to network as well as make friends whilst doing something most of us love doing – Watching cricket!

GOPIO Youth council organized a one-day trekking trip after the completion of the University semester to give students a chance to socialize amongst other students as well as engage in physical activities at the same time. It also provided the international students an opportunity to visit one of the best kept secrets of Brisbane – O Reilly’s Rainforest. The trip included breakfast, lunch and other activities such as Bushwalking, O Reilly's famous skywalk, visit to the

waterfalls etc.
